A handsome original 1930s Art Deco mantel clock, featuring a beautifully shaped veneered wooden case, chrome-finished bezel and an attractive silvered dial with stylised period Arabic numerals.

The dial is discreetly marked "FOREIGN" beneath the 6, indicating that the clock was manufactured overseas for the British export market. The substantial two-train mechanical movement is of Continental European manufacture and is believed to be German.

The clock strikes the hours on a traditional coiled gong, producing a rich and characterful tone.
