Haller Art Deco Mantel Clock Gong Strike Restored Vintage Mechanical Beatrice

Beatrice is a handsome vintage Haller mantel clock with strong Art Deco styling, a beautifully shaped timber case and a warm, traditional gong strike.

Her architectural case combines rich warm veneers with contrasting dark ebonised detailing, stepped side sections and silver-coloured metal accents. The overall design is bold, elegant and unmistakably period.

Beatrice has been fully serviced by Mahn & Co. Both mainsprings have been renewed using Novostar oil, giving the clock fresh, reliable power for both the timekeeping and striking trains, and all pivots have been re-oiled with synthetic clock oil.

The striking mechanism has been carefully adjusted and correctly sequenced, and the movement cleaned, lubricated, reassembled and tested. Beatrice now runs strongly and produces a lovely warm gong strike.

The timber case had become dry and visually flat over time. It has been carefully revived to restore depth, warmth and definition to the veneers while retaining its genuine age and character.

The bezel has been sympathetically polished rather than stripped. Areas where the original darker finish or plating had worn away were gently blended into the warmer exposed brass tones, creating a more balanced appearance without making the clock look artificially new.

The dial remains original and displays visible age-related wear and patina. This has intentionally been preserved as part of the clock's history rather than refinished or replaced.

This is a restored vintage mechanical clock and therefore retains age-related marks, wear and patina consistent with its period. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.

Beatrice strikes the hours on a traditional coiled gong, producing a warm, resonant and characterful tone. As with all vintage mechanical clocks, the precise tone is unique to the individual clock.
